Hello, my friends! Do you believe in love at first sight? Have you ever wondered about the Afterlife?
Have you ever pondered who God and the Holy Trinity are; does each religion have its own god?
This unique novel, "Conversations with Blanchie," is loosely written from a Catholic perspective.
Bob and Blanchie sat on their park bench in San Luis Obispo, California every morning before work for 71 years.
Blanchie dies and goes to Heaven, but she and Bob soon discover that they can continue their morning discussions.
I just finished this book and truly enjoyed it. The more I read about Heaven as a parallel universe, the more I liked it. Such a comfortable feeling. The author discusses (through his characters) the difference between life in Heaven and life on earth. Also, it gave me new ideas to consider about the Virgin Mary, the saints, the angels, Satan and Hell. I owe him my thanks for writing such a positive book and for causing me to think about some things I hadn't considered in a long time.
Many wonder about the afterlife. We hear what our Pastors and Priests tell us about Heaven and Hell. We read books and talk to friends. But none of us will know until it happens to us. In this small book Mr. Wise gives us his take. Long time married couple Bob and Blancie are happily married with children when Blanchie suddenly dies. She is in Heaven and finds she can communicate with Bob. The story is of Blanchie explaining as best she can to Bob about all the aspects of the Heaven in which she finds herself. We are left with our own thoughts on what we believe and how it compares to Blanchie's view.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the author. This book is a wonderful love story about an elderly couple, right after the wife’s death. Through some sort of fluke, the wife, Blanchie, is able to converse with her living husband, Bob, as long as he sits at the bench they sat at every day for 70+ years. During these conversations, we are brought into their story: the romantic whirlwind relationship that led up to their amazingly long-lived marriage, the lives (and deaths of their children), as well as the special moments that made this marriage last so long.
wow, what a book! So many thoughts and ideas to ponder about. Deep, sweet, this story will live on in your heart, yet I would not expect anything less from Mark F Wise. Well done! And thank you.
I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful book! It's an easy read with very unique subjects and a writing style. As you see in the introduction, it is a roller coaster of emotions. I'm going to buy "Conversations with Blanchie" as gifts!
